So much has appened in the past few month, it will be difficult to describe everything in detail, so highlights must suffice for now.
First, I saw The Hunger Games, and loved it ! I also read all three books in the trilogy, bought a few books that probably won't be available much longer, and think about a dystopoian future The Hunger Games represents, a future all the more likely the way things are going in the US and around the world at present. As far as I'm concerned, when she gets old enough, ( in a Future time that hasn't happened yet ) Katniss Everdeen for President. Better than the poseur and the Wealthy Criminal Class candidates vying for top Big Dog on the Block we have now.
Second, I finally got a piece of S--- Jeep Grand Cherokee from the man who was supposed to fix my now dead and gone Ford Ranger, and all I've had to pay for is for gas and insurance and temporary tags, but even that was expensive enough, given my still precarious financial state of affairs and the ever increasing cost of gas, food, everything really, in the Bush/Obama/Bernanke/21st Century Inflation spiral that has begun and is ongoing as you read this.
Space-X made history by successfully launching another Drqgon spacecraft to orbit, and rendezvousing and docking with the International Space Stationfor the first time. Space-X even managed to send up some supplies and haul down garbage and gear no longer needed onboard the orbiting complex. And the spacecraft successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean and was recovered. Hurrah for Space-X !
The weather turned from rainy and cool to hot to still hot in the morning but clouding up twoards afternoon as summer used to be in Colorado in the days of my youth. Maybe we'll get the July monsoonal flow we normally experience this summer after all. The state could use the dousing rains to help put out the numerous wildfires that have killed one person and burned down many homes near Boulder and Colorado Springs.
And I'm still working, still alive and as well as a 53 year old man who has seen better times and better health can do. It's a wonder that I haven't died yet, given stupid Police, stupid inattentive drivers, indifferent family, and non-existent friends. Not sure if there's a reason I'm still here, other than no one has succceded in killing me off, either with bullets, automobiles, a rogue virulent virus or bacteria, or just plain old neglect.
More to come, sooner than later.
